Acute Coronary Syndrome

[Case Review]

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) starts with simple chest pain and can progress to complete occlusion if undiagnosed.

"This is actually one of the largest clots I've removed..."

In this episode, follow interventional cardiologist Dr. Jay Mohan as he navigates a real-life case of ACS, so you can learn the key steps in EKG interpretation for treatment and intervention!

What’s inside this just over 15-min case:

Understand ACS:
Overview of the ACS spectrum from unstable angina to Stemi & the pathophysiology behind it.

EKG Interpretation:
Systematic approach of what to look for (rate, rhythm, intervals) & findings of this case (first-degree heart block, ST elevation, reciprocal changes).

Next Steps:
Key considerations, questions to ask & what additional tests/scans may be needed.

Cardiac Intervention:

See the cath lab procedure, with steps and techniques used (guide catheters, balloons, intravascular ultrasound, coronary thrombectomy).

Final Result:
Post-care, medication, & risk factor modification in managing patients after a cardiac event to prevent future incidents.
